Preteens... prepare to put your marketing skills to the test as we look at books of the bible.
Sunday school is a great time to make friends, learn important stories, and let your creativity flow! With crafts, games and songs, we always have a new adventure waiting for us with our church friends.

Sunday School: Fall / Winter 2023
Welcome back, Sunday School friends! This fall we are going to be looking through the bible at all the stories that involve animals, and then build our very own Bible Zoo! This year we are also introducing a pre-teen class, which is looking at the Books of the Bible and creating their own book jackets for their chosen book. Delve into the stories and market them to appeal.

Vacation Bible School 2023!
We are starting to prepare for the VBS Program of 2023... Hero Hotline! Join God's team of Super Heroes from
Aug. 21 - 25, at the church from 5:30 - 7:30pm!
Super Meer is going to guide us and teach us how to "Strive for the things that bring peace and the things that build each other up!" (Rms 14:19).

The program consists of upbeat music, themed crafts, bible stories, science experiments and outdoor recreation time. There is even specially made snacks every day! Throughout the week, the participants will have the chance to create their own superhero outfit, which can be taken home with them when the program is over.
There are two age groups available, the younger group (Ages 4-7) and the older group (ages 8 - 12). If you happen to have children who are older, then please feel free to contact us. We would be more than happy to accept them as volunteers or participants, depending on what they would prefer.

Pre-registration can be completed by downloading and filling out the registration form and then sending it to sjsprograms@gmail.com, dropping the completed form off at the church during any open hours, or you can simply show up during the program! Everyone is welcome!
Sunday School: Winter / Spring 2023
Happy 2023! We are all back into the swing of things with our Sunday school excitement. This year we are jumping into the Journey of Joe, and following the stories of Joseph (Youngest son of Jacob, not to be confused with any other famous Bible Josephs) as he works his way into the favour of the Pharaoh.

Welcome back, folks!!

Sunday School is back in full swing, and we will be focusing on the New Testament this time! Come meet with us during the church service as we learn about the different miracles Jesus performed and make crafts to remind us of the amazing things he did!

Vacation Bible School 2022!

Vacation Bible School 2022 was amazing! We went On A Roll With God from July 18 - 22, with those aged 4-12 as we learned about the difficulties of running a food truck as well as of all the wonderful ways that God provides!
The program ran in the evening, from 6-7:30pm and have a variety of fun, upbeat music, hands on crafts and tasty treats!

Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers, the staff, and the children who made this year's VBS program a tasty success! Hope to see you all again in the fall, and we will continue learning about God and having fun together!

Sunday School: Winter/Spring 2022
Welcome to 2022!!

To start the year off, while the church is hosting online services, we will be emailing out "virtual Sunday School." If you would like your name added to the email list, to receive the activity sheets throughout January, then please feel free to contact us at sjsprograms@gmail.com.

Beginning on February 6th, we will be back in-house, and will be delving into the "Books of the Old Testament"! There are 39 smaller books inside the part of the Bible that we call The Old Testament, and we're going to cover all of them, over a ten-week period. Together, we will be building a flannel board bible so that we can act out the stories as we go!

There will be no Sunday School throughout the summer months, but that doesn't mean we're finished having fun yet! May 29 - June 19th will be our "Springing into Love" lessons, where we celebrate the turning of the season with some outdoor crafts and activities!

Sunday School: Fall/Winter 2021
Come September, we are looking to get ourselves back into our normal routine. Yup, you heard right, Sunday School will be available AT the church again! No more take-home packs! The first day back is September 12 (at the same time as regular service, 11am-12pm).
We will be learning about the Prophets of the Old Testament and discussing the importance of listening to God. He always has a plan, and we can be a part of it!

Vacation Bible School 2021!
This year we are all going to be Knights of the North Castle!! Children will be directed by our resident dragon, Sparky, through the stories that help them build their own Armour of God!
​
All Covid-19 regulations are being carefully adhered to and parents will be required to answer a quick questionnaire before dropping off their child. As we have limited spots for this years camp, pre-registration is required and can be done by filling out the registration form below and sending it to Victoria.

This year, we are providing the camp in a bit of a different schedule. We will be meeting from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday nights through August. To be specific, those dates are Aug. 3, Aug. 10, Aug. 17, and Aug. 24. There will be an opportunity for parents to stay and lounge during that time if needed.

On Nov. 28th, we got back together for the Knights of the North Castle Revival!! Sparky found one extra secret riddle, and we all went out on a final adventure to learn the story of Mary's Journey to Bethlehem and find the Shoes of Peace! This time, parents and siblings were invited to join us and we had an extra special snack time!
Sunday School 2020 - 2021
Sunday school at St. John's, through the 2020-2021 year, has been an interesting challenge. Kits were made monthly and sent to the childrens homes and then weekly videos were emailed out to walk them through their craft steps. If you'd like take a look at the videos, check them out here:
